Vibe by Vacation: Marrakesh, Morocco

Hola! I am back with another “Vibe by Vacation” entry….coming to you from Morocco! I have always been enamored by this beautiful African country. Recently I had a design consultation with a client that loves Moroccan decor and patterns. I’m currently designing her dream meditation space inspired by the beautiful Moroccan city of Marrakesh. Wanna know a secret? (Whispers) The picture below is the color palette for my client’s space. Doesn’t it just make you want to sit in there and chill for hours? I could stare at this picture alone for hours.

If you want to bring some Moroccan flavor into your own home, then check out the items I curated below.

Vibe by Vacation: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Welp. Thanks to COVID-19 aka Corona-virus aka Rona aka Rona Mae Jenkins (coined by nvknows), I just had to postpone the last of my planned vacations til 2021. In 2019, I did not have the chance to go on any vacations so I was all ready to hit the road, book flights and get passport stamps to see some of my fave places and visit some of my fave people. One of which was to celebrate our 15th Deltaversary (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) with my line sisters (Gamma Tau Spring ‘05, Tuskegee University) in Puerto Vallarta, MX.

Since the majority of us are staying safe in our homes, I was inspired bring the dream destination to us by way of home decor.

I truly enjoyed watching this year’s Grammy Awards that aired on February 10th. It started off on a high note when the host Alicia Keys introduced her sisters: Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Jada Pinkett-Smith and my fave FLOTUS MICHELLE OBAMA! They came down the steps holding hands looking fearless and fierce. The true illustration of sister girls. There were some questionable performances (as usual) but overall I enjoyed the show. I truly enjoyed the fashions that came down the red carpet. There were so many that I LOVED but only a few looks inspired me to translate them into home decor.

Fashionably Inspired: 2019 SAG Awards Edition

SAG.JPG

The SAG Awards were everything! Unfortunately I had to live the event through pictures and commentary the next morning. I have early am kickboxing classes on the weekdays, so staying up past my bedtime is not an option when I am working on my summer shape. I was elated to find out that “Black Panther” earned and won the top honor of the night! By looks of their red carpet looks, they could have easily won the best dressed cast as well, if it was offered.

As I scrolled through the images of the SAG Awards, I was immediately translating the fashions into spaces or home decor. So you know I had to share my visions on my blog.

Happy Birthday Michelle Obama!

Today one of my FAVORITE icons is celebrating her 55th birthday, First Lady Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama also known as Auntie MO in my tribe. She is one of the coolest “celebrities” I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. She is truly the epitome of class and grace. After living under the scrutiny of the public worldwide, she remained true to herself through her initiatives, actions, fashion, and words.

“When they go low, we go high”

To honor Auntie MO’s birthday, I curated “If the Look was a Room” Michelle O. special edition.
