I truly enjoyed watching this year’s Grammy Awards that aired on February 10th. It started off on a high note when the host Alicia Keys introduced her sisters: Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Jada Pinkett-Smith and my fave FLOTUS MICHELLE OBAMA! They came down the steps holding hands looking fearless and fierce. The true illustration of sister girls. There were some questionable performances (as usual) but overall I enjoyed the show. I truly enjoyed the fashions that came down the red carpet. There were so many that I LOVED but only a few looks inspired me to translate them into home decor.

Fashionably Inspired: 2019 SAG Awards Edition

The SAG Awards were everything! Unfortunately I had to live the event through pictures and commentary the next morning. I have early am kickboxing classes on the weekdays, so staying up past my bedtime is not an option when I am working on my summer shape. I was elated to find out that “Black Panther” earned and won the top honor of the night! By looks of their red carpet looks, they could have easily won the best dressed cast as well, if it was offered.

As I scrolled through the images of the SAG Awards, I was immediately translating the fashions into spaces or home decor. So you know I had to share my visions on my blog.

Which SAG Award look was your favorite?

Happy Birthday Michelle Obama!

Today one of my FAVORITE icons is celebrating her 55th birthday, First Lady Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama also known as Auntie MO in my tribe. She is one of the coolest “celebrities” I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. She is truly the epitome of class and grace. After living under the scrutiny of the public worldwide, she remained true to herself through her initiatives, actions, fashion, and words.

“When they go low, we go high”

To honor Auntie MO’s birthday, I curated “If the Look was a Room” Michelle O. special edition.

There were so many fantastic and epic looks in the last decade, it was difficult to narrow it down. However, I was able to dwindle it down to these few as my most memorable. Which of my faves are your favorites?

Fashionably Inspired: 2019 Golden Globe Awards Edition

I LIVE for the red carpet fun leading up to the award shows. I look forward to the fashions more than the show itself unless my favorite celebrities are nominated. Even then, I still find it difficult to stay up to watch the entire show. The shows tend to start near my bedtime and are on school nights (I call Sun- Thurs school nights LOL).

When my sister from another Mr. (and Mrs. LOL) texted me Sunday night that the Golden Globe Awards were on, I was elated and sad. I was happy for I was going to have new fashions to stir my imaginations and creativity. I was sad for I was going to miss watching it for I was to start a new routine the following day: 615AM workouts!

As soon as I laid my head down to sleep, this same sister texted me the picture of Billy Porter on the red carpet. Baby (New Orleans accent)! His ensemble (yes ENSEMBLE, not outfit) gave me all kind of vibes that I would love to curate for a space. The colors, the textures, his mood, EVERYTHING. Thanks to Billy Porter (he has officially made my list of famous people I would love to meet), I was inspired to create this blog illustrating how elements of red carpet looks can be translated into a living space.
